Marriott is to add more than 140 new hotels with more than 34,000 rooms outisde of the US and Canada over the next four years.
Ed Fuller, the global hotel chain's president and managing directzor for international lodgings said that the hotels had already been signed for.
Speaking at a press conference at the ITB in Berlin, Mr Fuller said the new opeings wouldinclude luxury hotels in China, India, the UAE, Kazakhstan and the UK.
He said Marriott had also signed an agreement for 15 new properties in Scandinavia. Four of these would be built at Oslo and Kristiansund Airports in Norwat and inthe Swedish cities of Stockholm and Malmoe.
These hotels would be open by 2010.
