We hear the tale of angry passengers on an Excel flight who staged a ”stand-up” last week by way of protest over a re-routed flight. The passengers were told by the captain just before take off that they would be landing at Gatwick instead of Manchester as planned. They were furious and refused to sit down and fasten their seat belts. One passenger said: ”We wanted to go home to Manchester and were adamant that we would not sit down. We were very calm, and eventually the crew listened and we won the day”. We will not tell who submitted this tale to protect the innocent but we can assume that the crew having eventually run out of hours had to passenger down to Gatwick. They had forgotten that the customer is always right!
