Rumours circulated at the Paris Air Show last week that a wealthy ” clearly ” buyer has shelled out for a private A380.
The purchaser has become remarkably coy about revealing his identity, although it probably wouldn”t take an awful lot of brainpower to work out who's got the odd $300m or so.
In the game of those with the biggest toys wins, this buyer clearly knocks those owners of tiny private A340s into a cocked hat, but what on earth is the point? How many aerial gold-plated bathrooms, cinemas, Jacuzzis, casinos, racetracks, does anyone need? And anyway, outside the majors, where could you fly it to?
