Hahn Air, the ticketing provider, has signed an agreement with Amadeus to provide interlined e-ticketing in good time for IATA”s end of 2007 deadline. Hahn Air currently has codeshare agreements with over 200 other airlines, who will all have the benefit of the e-ticketing platform.
Without this agreement a number of airlines would have difficulty meeting IATA”s deadline for e-ticketing due to lack of resources and the added costs. Amadeus vice president of Airline Business Group Fr”d”ric Spagnou explained: ”The agreement with Hahn Air is a landmark achievement in ensuring that carriers in markets such as the Middle East and Africa, Russia and the CIS region or Latin America, where e-ticketing penetration is less advanced, don”t lose out”.
