Astratis, the Kent-based distribution and reservations specialist, has acquired travel solution provider Travel Options for an undisclosed sum. The company will continue to operate separately from Astratis, but clients will have the benefit of being part of a larger group that serves over 70 tour operators.
Although Astratis will support Travel Options” existing software, they will implement an update strategy over the next two years. The new group customer space covers airlines, major tour operators, accommodation-only, flight and rail city breaks, coaching and events ticketing, transfers and specialist holiday organisers.
Astratis CEO Steve Watson said: ”Astratis is on a major acquisition and product development drive. The demands on technology to satisfy the rapidly changing requirements of the travel industry are incredible. The acquisition provides the group with additional market penetration and specialised skills and services that Travel Options provide for its existing clients. Add this to the current expertise, enterprise solutions and multiple distribution channels provided by Astratis and you have an extremely comprehensive and competitive offering.”
The combination of the two companies has seen the birth of a new travel technology brand that will be launched at the Travel Technology Show next week. Stand C38.
