An attempt to reverse a "flawed decision" relating to the random inspection and seizure of laptops and other electronic equipment, has been mounted by the association of Corporate travel Executives.
Along with the Electronic Frontier Foundation, aCtE is challenging a us supreme Court ruling, which gives the country's Customers and Border Protection service blanket authority to inspect all electronic devices and examine, copy or seize the contents as they see fit.
The association's executive director susan gurley said: "Our position is straightforward. Computers and other electronic devices are an extension of an individual's thoughts and expressions. they should not be regarded as luggage or briefcases." added that laptop searches and data seizures violate the Fourth amendment.
