Sabre will introduce its new graphical view version of Sabre Red Workspace from the third quarter of 2011.
Agents working in the new graphical view will be able to shop and book air, hotel and car in a fully-graphical format.
The graphical view is currently undergoing beta-testing by some 50 agencies globally. Once testing is complete, it will be available in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, French and Russian.
The updated workspace will make the shopping and booking process simpler, according to the travel technology company.
Martin Cowley, Sabre Travel Network’s senior VP EMEA, said: “Graphical view gives agents another option within the Sabre Red Workspace to tailor their workflow based on their needs and preferences.”
The new graphical view makes the workflow similar to an online booking tool and shopping cart style of processing a booking.
Agents will save time and increase productivity, as it requires fewer keystrokes – cutting seven or eight strokes down to one – and new capabilities have been added, said Cowley.
“Because of the increased speed and additional capabilities of graphical view, it will allow agents to do more in less time, making it a valuable tool for seasoned agents and those who are just starting out.”
The new view of Sabre Red Workspace will also reduce the amount of training time new agents will need from six weeks to two, added Cowley.
For users who prefer the “blue screen” view, it will by easy to toggle back and forth to this from the new graphical view.
Some of the new capabilities of the graphical view include calendar shopping, map-based shopping for hotels, the ability to email travel options to clients during the shopping process, and more low fare options.
The new graphical view is the latest update to the Sabre Red Workspace, which was first unveiled June 2010.
