Tim Russell, Amadeus’ managing director for the UK and Ireland, is to stand down.
The travel IT company today (September19) confirmed that Russell would be taking a “career break.”
Russell took over the role from Stephane Duran in 2009.
Previously he had held a similar role for the company in Australia and New Zealand.
Durand who had held the post for five years was transferred to the company’s leisure and online sections, based in the south of France.
But Russell has suffered from ill health in the past year which one industry source told ABTN had influence his decision to stand down.
A spokesman for Amadeus said a successor to Russell had been identified and an announcement would be made shortly.
