Corporate Travel Management (CTM) has extended the functionality of its Lightning online booking tool to include an AI-powered itinerary builder with rich media content and company-specific hotel reviews.
The new door-to-door trip builder uses artificial intelligence to create a policy-compliant trip that includes flights, hotels and ground transfers “using only the traveller’s preferred destination”, the TMC said.
A recent API integration with RouteHappy also delivers an ‘enhanced’ flight shopping experience, with search results that incorporate product visuals and additional details on seat comfort, wifi, in-flight meals and baggage allowances.
A new hotel ratings and review feature, meanwhile, prompts travellers to score their hotel experience upon check out, based on metrics set by the individual traveller as well as the company. Peer-rated reviews now also appear within hotel search results.
CTM chief technology officer EMEA, Brian Sheerin, said this latest round of updates will drive travel programme adoption by reducing the time it takes to book a trip to mere ‘seconds’.
“Speed is a key differentiator for Lightning… By incorporating more AI into Lightning that understands the traveller’s booking trends and preferences, users can now book their complete journey package, based off just their meeting destination, and all in a matter of seconds,” he said.
