Anthony Uphill
Virgin Atlantic has named Anthony Uphill as the carrier’s vice president of sales with responsibility for all corporate and agency sales.
Uphill, who was most recently director of international partnerships and strategy at American Express Travel, will take up his role with Virgin Atlantic on 5 May. He also previously worked for American Express Global Business Travel as global general manager of financial services.
The airline’s previous vice president of global sales, Luke Goggin, left the company in late 2025 after more than two years in the role.
In a statement, Virgin Atlantic said that Uphill would also work with its joint venture parters Delta Air Lines, Air France and KLM, as well as “exploring new revenue growth opportunities” with the SkyTeam alliance.
Dave Geer, the airline’s chief commercial officer, added: “Anthony brings a wealth of global commercial experience and a deep understanding of the evolving needs of corporate and agency customers.
“His track record of building high-performing teams and driving strategic revenue growth makes him the ideal leader to take our B2B sales organisation into its next phase.”
Uphill said: “I have long admired Virgin Atlantic and I’m delighted to be taking on this pivotal role at such an exciting time for the business. The airline has a powerful brand, a differentiated premium proposition and strong global partnerships, which together create significant opportunity in the corporate and agency space.”
