John Mangelaars
Travel tech firm Travelport has announced that John Mangelaars will take over from Greg Webb as CEO next year.
Former Skyscanner CEO John Mangelaars, who joined Travelport as chief operating officer in September, will succeed Webb on 1 April.
In a statement, the company said Webb, who has led Travelport since 2019, had decided to step down from his position but remain on the board of directors.
Webb said: “I am proud of what we have accomplished together and am confident that John will continue to accelerate our progress and deliver exceptional value to our customers.”
John Swainson, chairman of Travelport’s board, added: “We are delighted to welcome John Mangelaars as Travelport's new CEO. His deep expertise in technology and proven ability to revolutionise travel platforms make him the ideal leader for Travelport's next chapter.”
Mangelaars spent more than four years at the helm of metasearch provider Skyscanner and before that was CEO at online travel agency Travix International.
“Our mission remains clear: to enhance travel retailing by delivering smarter, faster, and more connected solutions for our customers,” said Mangelaars. “I look forward to working with our excellent team and valued partners to continue driving innovation and growth.”
