Ola Hansson will take over responsibility for Lufthansa
Airlines’ Munich hub as CEO on 1 May following a reshuffle of responsibilities
in the company.
Hansson is currently chief executive and managing director
operations Lufthansa Aviation Training. He is taking over responsibility for
commercial and station management, ground infrastructure and the operational
processes in the cockpit, cabin and on the ground at Munich from Wilken
Bormann, who will assume responsibility for Lufthansa Group Finance. Bormann’s
new remit includes the areas of accounting and balance sheets, taxes and
corporate finance.
Hansson, originally from Sweden, worked as a pilot for
Scandinavian Airlines for three years and joined Swissair as senior first
officer in 1992. He held a number of management positions in Swiss
International Airlines’ flight operations until 2017. Most recently, he was
responsible for the entry-to-service of the airline’s Boeing 777. In August
2017, Hansson moved to the management board of Lufthansa Aviation Training in
Munich.
