CWT has appointed Richard Thompson as its global head of environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) and employee experience.
Formerly the company’s vice president, global internal communication and culture, Thompson will now lead CWT’s responsible business activities while continuing to oversee HR communications and workplace culture initiatives.
Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Thompson will report to executive vice president and chief HR officer Laura Watterson. He is a member of the company’s human resources leadership team and is also a key liaison with the Board of Directors’ Nominating and Environment, Social and Governance (NESG) committee.
“In my new role, my primary goal will be to work with our teams to raise the level of our ESG and employee experience ratings, content, reporting, stakeholder communication and investor engagement with particular emphasis on sustainability issues,” said Thompson.
“I’m eager to accelerate CWT’s internal programmes and external positions related to sustainability and ESG issues, working closely with our Board of Directors, colleagues and partners around the world, to build on our foundation and make us a leader in this field,” he added.
Prior to joining CWT in 2016, Thompson spent more than 25 years consulting in the automotive and manufacturing sectors, working with companies like Nissan Europe, Capgemini, Technip and Cargill.
