UK-based travel recruitment specialist C&M has appointed Jacky Docherty to the role of recruitment consultant after the company reported a “huge increase” in demand for talent across the travel industry.
In welcoming Docherty to the fold, C&M Travel Recruitment managing director, Barbara Kolosinska, said the demand for travel talent has “never been higher”.
"Since February, there's been a big increase in the number of TMCs looking to recruit again – and this doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon,” she told BTN Europe.
“After almost two years of very limited activity, corporate travel recruitment is now extremely active. In the first half of 2022, the number of business travel placements has risen by 116 per cent compared to the same period in 2019.”
Meanwhile, in her new role, Docherty will have a particular focus on corporate travel. She has more than 20 years’ experience working across the travel industry, including as a senior business travel consultant at HRG and BCD Travel, and more than five years’ experience in recruitment after starting her own recruitment desk focusing on corporate travel.
"After taking some time away from the industry during the pandemic, I missed travel very much,” Docherty said. "I'm really excited to have now started my journey with C&M, be part of a great team and be back in the industry I love."
The appointment follows the arrival of Lisa Haynes in February, and the return of both Shannon O'Flaherty and Alex McLeish to the company last December.
