Multinational manufacturer Unilever has agreed to expand its contract with KDS, the online business travel management solution company, to its UK workforce. This agreement comes after an initial deal signed in 2003 for KDS to implement a travel booking tool in the Netherlands, which if successful would be rolled out across the company. Unilever specifically asked for travel policies that could be made specific to each company location.
KDS responded with a multi-lingual solution in 11 languages, offering 170 currencies. The system allows for direct access to clients” negotiated fares, hotel rates and flight schedules. The company has also agreed to integrate its tools with those of Carlson Wagonlit Travel, with whom Unilever also has a strong relationship.
The company plans to implement KDS solutions in other European locations in the future. ”Looking back over KDS” relationship with Unilever, we feel the results speak volumes about how big an impact the right business travel solution can have,” said KDS CEO Yves Weisselberger. ”Going forward, with travel and expense solutions converging, these types of projects will continue to have a reliably positive long-term return as companies truly optimise their travel and expense management process.”
