Norgine has saved thousands on travel by introducing a 21-day advance booking policy.
The pharmaceutical manufacturer, a client of TMC Egencia, extended its target for bookings from 14 days in advance to 21 days at the beginning of 2011.
According to Toral Notay, category manager, global indirect purchasing, this extension, alongside increased online adoption, has resulted in “significant savings” of €140,000 in the first half of 2011.
Norgine decided to increase its advance booking target after the 14-day window became easily achievable.
“We decided to push the boundaries and encourage the bookers to book 21 days in advance,” she said.
“The data that we’re receiving from Egencia shows not only are we successful booking 21 days in advance, over 60% of our bookings are being booked more than 21 days in advance.”
On average, travel bookings by Norgine employees are now 33 days in advance.
Since Norgine started working with Egencia in 2008, the pharmaceutical company has introduced a number of other measure to reduce travel costs – watch the case study below to hear about more.
