ICARUS, the highly regarded CSR programme of the UK and Ireland Institute of Travel Management (ITM), has moved to a stand-alone website open to non-members.
The ITM also said it had done a deal with the Danish Business Travel Association (DBTA) to allow its members access to content.
The site, to which anyone can now subscribe, is aimed at business travel managers and travellers wishing to cut their carbon ”footprints”.
It carries the ITM”s environmental and duty of care toolkits, as well as a programme of accreditation for buyers who consider green factors when purchasing their company”s travel.
The site is regarded as one of the best of its kind in the industry.
Paul Tilstone, ITM”s executive director, said the site had received thousands of hits in the last year from more than 30 countries.
He added: ”The creation of a stand-alone site, access to non-members and the deal with DBTA illustrates that we are taking the content and premise of ICARUS to a much broader audience."
