HRG used the first day of the Business Travel Show to unveil its new interactive mapping and reporting tool plus changes to its events and meetings service.
The new product, HRG Insight, gives companies an interactive map on which the location of their personnel is highlighted around the world. It can also detail spend and identify high risk areas. The tool can be used on tablet and mobile devices.
HRG says the interface allows users to capture pre and post-travel data in one place ‘for the first time’. Bespoke reports can be set up, such as specific spend in a certain area or on a range of routes.
HRG says the product presents data in a similar way to an airline route map, allowing users to see the most popular routes and destinations.
Nigel Meyer, HRG’s group technology and data services director, said; “Data is now being used by decision makers outside the sphere of travel management, including finance, procurement and team leaders. HRG Insight has been designed to deliver data in a way that is accessible and easy to use for all disciplines to ensure spend is wisely managed and personnel are always protected.”
HRG also confirmed a shake-up of its Events and Meetings Management division. This now becomes three separate areas on a global level, divided into Meetings, Groups and Events.
HRG Meetings covers management programmes and venue sourcing for meetings and conferences of any size. HRG Groups helps clients to book air and hotel arrangements for people travelling together and coordinates reservations for individuals travelling to the same event from multiple departure points.
HRG Events handles project management for content, theme, design, production and on-site support on a local country by country basis.
John Harvey, HRG’s project director said: “More and more clients are looking at the consolidation of their meetings requirements and with potential savings from a managed programme being up to 25 per cent versus an unmanaged programme, we are eager to help clients gain control of their meetings, group and event management opportunities.”
