Following the media scrum in response to yesterday’s news calling for airlines to consider adult only flights, the Business Travel & Meetings Show has announced a brand new Opening Panel Debate for Wednesday 9 February, called Computer Says No… What’s Wrong With Business Travel?
The story, which made front page news in the Express, also attracted comment from the likes of Frank Barrett, The Mail on Sunday's travel editor, who said: “I'm always amused to see children in business class on flights. What sort of business can these children be travelling on? What work does a six-month old baby have to do in New York? However, much as I hate being kept awake all night by a grizzling child, I think that starting to introduce passenger apartheid might be a dangerous step. Where would it end? Banning fat people, roping off anyone who has smelly breath? We'll just have to grin and bear the presence of kiddies, I'm afraid.”
David Chapple, BTMS London event director said: “Yesterday travellers had a fantastic opportunity to air their grievances. We feel it’s time buyers got the same gripe-time, and this session, which takes place at 10am next Wednesday, will provide them with exactly that. It’s going to be feisty and fun, but also provide some very interesting feedback for our exhibitors.”
