British Midland International will install new seats on all its A319 and A320 aircraft in the coming months.
The new seats, due to be installed by this September, will mean the airline offers a standardised product on its short haul routes, said Bmi.
They are also lighter than the current seats, so will improve fleet performance.
As part of the overhaul, nine A319 and five A320 aircraft will also get new lighting, carpets, curtains and bulkheads.
Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, Bmi’s CEO, said: “We are committed to improving our customers’ experience and continue to ensure that bmi is in a position to deliver a truly competitive product in the marketplace.”
The short-haul refurbishment follows a recent refit of the airline’s ongoing refit of its midhaul fleet, which is due to be completed by the end of May.
