Abta is holding a dedicated risk and security event on 3 October.
The "Business Travel Risk Management Seminar: Protecting Your Travelling Employees" event, which is being held at Abta's office on Park Street, central London, will include panels, Q&As and discussions that will aim to cover a range of topics, including the legal implications of business travel risk management, traveller tracking and data management in business travel.
In a recent Abta survey, nearly 60 per cent of managers expressed concern about health and safety threats to their travelling staff. These include potential security threats, health and medical concerns, harassment or violence against staff, natural disasters and severe weather conditions.
Speakers will include Adrian Parkes, chief executive of the GTMC; William Sandover, chair of the GBTA Risk Committee; Carolyn Pearson, chief executive of Maiden Voyage; John O'Sullivan, group marketing director at Key Travel; Adam Knights, UK managing director of ATPI; and Tony McGetrick, sales director UK & Ireland at BCD Travel.
Meanwhile, Amy Clark, security operations manager at PwC, and Amanda Taylor, head of travel at cosmetics company Lush, will appear, while Matt Gatenby and Farina Azam from seminar sponsor Travlaw will also be speaking.
The headline sponsor is Drum Cussac, and the risk specialist's Brandon Thompson and Dom Chester will share their views on the day.
Abta said: "Whether you are a small or large company, a TMC or a supplier, attend to learn how to put a travel risk plan in place, and how to take it to the next level. Identify, assess and mitigate the risks facing travelling employees and integrate your plan throughout the whole organisation."
