The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) and the Pittsburgh Business Travel Association (PBTA) have announced they will become ‘Education Partners’.
Speaking at the ACTE global travel conference in Atlanta this week, CEO Greeley Koch and former PBTA president Sean McCurdy, outlined the objectives of the new partnership which will start in Autumn.
Both organisations will begin joint studies, surveys and the “sharing of expertise”, with the potential for hosting special projects. There has also been a joint event “tentatively scheduled” for the end of 2015.
The announcement follows the PBTA’s decision to end its affiliation with the GBTA in January, stating it wanted to become an independent organisation.
“The ACTE partnership is a true milestone for PBTA, as an independent association with some of the most distinguished industry professionals as members, PBTA is looking forward to working with ACTE as we launch this new exciting partnership,” said McCurdy.
“ACTE’s respect for autonomy and accomplishment, and a commitment to exploring new association models will allow PBTA to provide our members with best in class educational content.
Koch said: “The PBTA and ACTE have a parallel mission in exploring new dimensions in business travel management. These include the freedom to exchange ideas, speakers, and data generated by our respective memberships.
“This is the year of innovation, and this partnership is the best way to advance our common interests.”
