Norwegian travel buyers are enjoying relatively cheap business air fares, statistics released this week have revealed, despite a gentle rise over the past three months.
Each quarter, Statistics Norway publishes a compendium of price indices relating to the cost of transport in the country.
This week, the figures have been released for the fourth quarter of 2014 and these show that business air fares (domestic and international) have increased by 1.2 per cent quarter on quarter and 6.9 per cent year on year.
Our chart this week looks at the development of the price index (which uses a base of 100 for the year 2010). The chart shows that business air fares have fallen steadily since late 2008, at the beginning of the global financial crisis but have now been gently rising since the third quarter of 2013.
Despite the rises, business air fares are still relatively cheap compared with recent years meaning Norwegian travel buyers remain in a good position.
