Wizz Air has introduced a new optional service – known as Wizz Class – which enables travellers to reserve an adjacent middle seat “for more space and comfort”, the low-cost carrier announced on Tuesday (13 January).
The move is a clear play for the business travel market, which the Hungary-based budget airline describes as “growing”. It also follows recent distribution agreements with Travelfusion and Kyte to make Wizz Air content available via corporate travel booking channels.
The new service is available as an add-on within the booking flow to Smart and Plus bundle purchases, the carrier said, which include priority boarding with 10 kg carry-on baggage.
When a traveller selects the Wizz Class option, one of the middle seats closer to them (1B and 1E) will be reserved on their flight and they will also receive a complimentary in-flight non-alcoholic drink and snack, according to the carrier.
The service is offered on select flights to and from Budapest, Bucharest Otopeni, Warsaw, London Luton, London Gatwick, and Rome Fiumicino – and is subject to seat availability.
“Business travel is growing across our network, and we’ve listened to what our passengers want, " said Wizz Air commercial officer Silvia Mosquera. "They’re asking for a bit more space and speed, but they don’t want to pay legacy airline prices for business class.
“Wizz Class answers that demand – offering passengers the room they crave and the service they deserve, without compromising our simple, convenient model. We are also committed to stay a single-class carrier with our efficiency targets."
In 2025, Wizz Air was ranked as the world’s “most emissions-efficient airline” in a report by aviation analytics firm Cirium.
