Virgin Atlantic is introducing “emotional health” warnings on its inflights movies.
The airline will display a message before a film starts that it could “cause viewers of a sensitive disposition to cry”.
The majority (55%) of flyers in the UK experience “heightened emotions” when on a plane, a survey by Virgin revealed.
However, the results of the poll varied considerably by region, with those from Wolverhampton the most sensitive.
Some 70% of respondents from the city said their emotions were heightened on a flight, compared to just 26% of those from Gloucester.
People from Wolverhampton seem most emotionally sensitive with 70% of respondents saying their emotions heighten on a flight compared to only 26% of respondents from Gloucester.
Around 23% of respondents from Wolverhampton admitted to shedding a tear while watching a film at altitude.
