Virgin Atlantic has pushed back some of its planned service
restoration but now plans to resume flights to 17 destinations from August
through October.
The carrier still plans to resume flights from Heathrow to
Hong Kong, Los Angeles and New York's John F Kennedy International airport in
late July, but now plans to restart service to Shanghai on 4 August and to
Orlando – from both Heathrow and Manchester – on 24 August, subject to approval
from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Other services set to
resume in August include: Barbados on 1 August, San Francisco on 4 August, Tel
Aviv on 9 August, Miami on 18 August, Lagos on 23 August and Atlanta on 25 August.
In September, Virgin Atlantic plans to resume service from Heathrow
to Las Vegas, Seattle, Washington, DC, Mumbai, New Delhi and Johannesburg. In
October, it plans to restart flights to Boston and Antigua, as well as service
between Manchester and Barbados.
Service adjustments for Covid-19 include requiring enhanced
cleaning practices, health packs for passengers that include medical-grade face
masks and simplified hot food service.
