Vietnam Airlines has been named as the latest company to join the GTMC as an industry partner.
The organisation hailed the airline’s “significant” move to Heathrow planned for this month as well as its focus on the corporate travel sector.
In January, Vietnam Airlines announce it was leaving Gatwick to launch a direct service from Heathrow airport, starting March 31.
The national carrier currently operates two twice-weekly flights to the UK capital, one from Hanoi and the other from Ho Chi Minh, with a B777-200ER. From July, the airline will use its new fleet of 787-9 Dreamliners to operate five weekly services to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
GTMC CEO Paul Wait, said: “The GTMC values its relationships with industry partners and we are pleased to be working closely with Vietnam Airlines.
“With the airline’s significant move to Heathrow and the focus placed on offering a quality product and service to the corporate travel sector we look forward to a partnership that will foster positive and productive relationships with our members.”
Vietnam Airlines general manager UK & Ireland, Le Thanh Dzung said: “The UK business travel market is a key priority for Vietnam Airlines, and we believe that becoming a GTMC partner will help us to develop our relationship with TMCs and will support the major investments we have made to enhance our product and service offering.
“The GTMC provides the vital means to reach out to corporate travellers across the UK and we look forward to cementing this partnership through our joint marketing and training activity over the coming months.”
