United Airlines has resumed service from New York's John F Kennedy International Airport after an absence of more than five years from the airport. The carrier now is flying five roundtrip flights a week from JFK to both Los Angeles and San Francisco and plans to increase service as demand dictates. United ended its JFK operations in 2015, a move that CEO Scott Kirby has since called a "mistake" as it resulted in lost business from corporate clients who prefer JFK to United's Newark hub.
