The UK’s transport secretary has said that full vaccination
is likely to be a requirement to enter most countries from now on.
Speaking to BBC Radio 4’s Today programme Grant Shapps said,
“Double vaccination – full vaccination – is going to be a feature for ever more
and most countries, probably all
countries, will require full vaccination for you to enter.”
The transport secretary was speaking as the BBC reported comments from an unnamed White House official that the US will eventually require almost all foreign visitors to be fully vaccinated.
It said that the Biden administration had tasked inter-agency groups with creating a phased reopening for international visitors but gave no timeline for the decision.
Shapps was speaking to the BBC following changes to the government's traffic-light system that will see more countries
added to the green list and doubly-jabbed arrivals from France no longer
required to self-isolate.
