Southampton airport has reported a 14 per cent increase in passenger number for March, after positive growth for many of its business routes.
The airport welcomed 148,000 passengers last month after recording positive year-on-year growth on routes including Aberdeen, Leeds, Belfast and Manchester.
Southampton airport also saw international passenger number increase by 8 per cent and domestic passengers up 17 per cent compared to the same period in 2014.
This summer the airport is introducing four new destinations including a daily service to Antwerp starting April 23 and Milan which starts on May 16.
Southampton airport managing director Dave Lees, said: “Our passengers have been making the most of the final weeks of snow; heading for the Pyrenees and Alps on ski breaks.
“Southampton airport is now gearing up for an eventful summer season with several exciting new destination being launched in the coming weeks.”
