British Airways and Virgin Atlantic have been forced to cancel some of their transatlantic flights to New York and Boston due to forecasts of heavy snow on the east coast of the US.
New York is set to be hit by a blizzard bringing up to nine inches of snow on Thursday (January 2) afternoon through to Friday (January 3) morning. A snow warning has also been issued for the area directly south of Boston.
Virgin said it would be cancelling some of its flights to New York and Boston on both January 2 and 3. To check details click here.
Meanwhile BA said in a statement: “Heavy snow on the east coast of the US has affected our flights travelling to and from the US. We apologise in advance for the inconvenience caused by the poor weather but the safety of our customers is our top priority.”
