Airports across the southern half of the UK are seeing disruption to flights due to heavy snow.
The worst affected airports on Friday (January 18) morning included Cardiff, Bristol, Birmingham, Exeter and Southampton. Heathrow has also seen more than 170 cancelled flights due to worsening conditions at the UK’s hub airport.
Flights were suspended at Southampton until 15.00 while Bristol airport closed for all services until 12.00. Birmingham also had to suspend operations temporarily to allow snow to be cleared.
British Airways said: “Due to adverse weather conditions we are experiencing disruption to our flights and recommend that you do not travel to the airport unless your flight is confirmed.”

Easyjet said in a statement: “We strongly advise that passengers allow extra time for their journeys to the airport, check the status of your flight before leaving and continue to monitor this page as well as local weather forecasts.”
