Ryanair is to add 12 new routes from Stansted from April 2014 as the first part of its 10-year deal to increase traffic at the Essex airport.
The carrier’s new routes from Stansted will be Basel, Bordeaux, Brive, Bucharest, Comiso, Dortmund, Lisbon, Osijek (Croatia), Podgorica (Montenegro), Prague, Rabat and Skelleftea in Sweden. Four of these routes (Bordeaux, Dortmund, Lisbon and Rabat) had already been announced.
The 12 new destinations will take the total number of Ryanair routes from Stansted to 126 for next summer.
Ryanair is also to add more frequencies on another 17 existing routes from Stansted including major cities such as Barcelona, Berlin, Madrid, Milan and Rome.
The airline agreed a new expansion deal with Stansted in September after the airport was purchased from BAA by Manchester Airports Group (MAG). Under the agreement, Ryanair has vowed to increase its capacity at Stansted by 7 million passengers per year.
MAG's chief executive, Charlie Cornish said: "The new destinations and increase in flights on key routes will offer passengers and businesses even more choice at great value and build on the strength of Ryanair's extensive network at Stansted, the airline's largest base in Europe."
