Ryanair saw its passengers number jump 16 per cent last month, compared to the same period in 2014.
Around 9.5 million passengers used the budget airline in May, up from 8.2 million the previous year.
Rolling annual traffic to May 2015 grew 13 per cent to 93.1 million, with the airline’s load factor jumping to 92 per cent from 85 per cent with the same period last year.
Ryanair chief marketing officer, Kenny Jacobs put the increase in traffic down to the company’s “stronger forward bookings and the continuing success of our ‘Always Getting Better’ customer experience improvement programme”.
He said: “Ryanair customers can now look forward to further service enhancements, as we roll out Year 2 of our ‘Always Getting Better’ programme in 2015, which includes a new website, new app, [and] reduced fees”.
