Tarom is to start a twice-weekly service between Luton and Iasi in north-eastern Romania from October 29.
Romanian carrier Tarom will operate a 134 seat Boeing 737-300 in a two-class configuration on the route.
The outbound flight leaves Iasi at 21.30 local time and arrives in Luton at 22.55 on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The return service leaves Luton at 23.45 and arrives in Iasi at 05.05.
Luton's managing director Glyn Jones said: “With convenient flight times, quality onboard service and competitive fares we are sure the Iasi flights with Tarom will be a great success.”
Tarom, which joined the Skyteam alliance in 2010, is owned by the Romanian government has has been operating since 1954.
The airline’s project director Sorin Georgescu added: “We are delighted to commence services to Luton airport located in close proximity to London, one of the most important centres for business deals and most exciting destinations for tourists in the world.”
