London Heathrow has confirmed the Queen is to officially open the new Terminal 2 building in June.
‘The Queen’s Terminal’ will open on June 4 with the Queen performing the official opening three weeks later on June 23.
The Queen opened the old Terminal 2 in 1955 before it was demolished after 54 years of service.

In March Heathrow airport’s development director John Holland-Kaye It will be difficult to provide the “perfect passenger experience”, over the first few days at T2.
Holland-Kaye, who was speaking at a T2 briefing in central London, said he couldn’t guarantee the opening few days would run smoothly, but hoped to eventually emulate the success of Heathrow Terminal 5.
