Qatar Airways is to introduce a second Airbus A380 on to its Heathrow-Doha route from July 1.
The Doha-based airline launched its first superjumbo on the route in October 2014 and had originally intended to add a second daily A380 service to Heathrow from December 2014, but later cancelled this plan.
Qatar will now add the second A380 service on Heathrow-Doha due to an “increase in demand from our passengers”.
Flight QR002 will leave Heathrow at 21.30 and arrive in Doha at 06.10 the following day. While Flight QR001 will depart Doha at 12.35 and arrives at Heathrow at 17.55 on the same day.
Richard Oliver, Qatar Airways’ UK and Ireland country manager, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer a second A380 service from Heathrow to Doha in response to an increase in demand from our passengers.
“Offering two convenient departure times from Heathrow on the A380 will increase both choice and convenience.”
