Qatar Airways has decided to axe a number of flights on its Manchester to Doha route.
The airline will make the cuts from March 26 when it will operate ten flights a week on this route compare to the current 14 flights.
The cuts affect flight QR042 which departs Manchester at 10.00 and arrives in Doha at 19.00. They also involve inbound service QR041 which leaves Doha at 01.50 and reaches Manchester at 07.30.
Currently both flights operate daily but from March 26 the airline booking systems show that they will operate only on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
Qatar Airways has yet to issue a statement as to why it is cutting flights on this route.
But airline experts speculate that Qatar Airways may wish to redeploy the capacity on other routes and has chosen the quieter summer months (for Middle East travel) to do this. The carrier has expanded rapidly in recent times and it is understood that its existing fleet is fully utilised.
