Qatar Airways has increased capacity on its Doha to Melbourne route with the introduction of a Boeing 777-300.
The new aircraft will result in 30 per cent capacity on the daily flights to the Australian city, which means 76 more seats per day.
“Along with our daily flights to both Melbourne and Perth, the increase in overall capacity on our Melbourne route is further testament to our commitment to the Australian market,” said Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker.
All flights on the route will be operated with a Boeing 777-300, with up to 42 seats in business class and up to 293 seats in economy class.
The carrier recently announced an all business class flight from Doha to London Heathrow. The daily service will be operated by a 40-seater A319 and commence on May 15.
