Qatar Airways will launch direct flights between Doha and Tokyo from October 28.
The new winter schedule will see QR804 depart Doha at 03.30 and arrive Tokyo Narita at 19.00, while QR805 will depart Tokyo Narita at 22.30 and arrive Doha at 04.30 the following day.
The airline will serve Tokyo with a two-class B777-200 aircraft with 42 business and 217 economy seats.
Qatar Airways' CEO Akbar Al Baker said Japan has been a key market since it launched operations to Osaka in 2005, and started Tokyo flights via Osaka two years ago.
“We have been working closely with the local authorities to ensure we secure suitable slots at Narita to make Tokyo a non-stop service which now becomes a reality from October,” said Al Baker.
“This is great news for our existing passengers travelling to and from Tokyo, as well as our trade partners with whom we work closely to develop our business in and out of Japan.”
Qatar Airways currently serves Doha-Tokyo via Osaka, which will operate as separate flights from October.
The new schedule will see QR802 depart Doha at 01.15 and arrive Osaka Kansai at 16.40, while QR803 will depart Osaka Kansai at 00.20 and arrive Doha at 05.30.
New services to Perth in Western Australia will also start on July 3 and Kilimanjaro in Tanzania will begin from July 25.
