An Afriqiyah Airways flight from Johannesburg to Tripoli crashed shortly before reaching its destination this morning.
The incident is thought to have left 103 people dead.
There were 93 passengers and 11 crew members are on board. Current reports indicate one single survivor, a 10-year-old Dutch boy.
Flight 8U771 was due to reach Tripoli International Airport just after 6am this morning, local time.
The flight was due to connect with ongoing flights to Europe, including the UK. There are fears that British passengers may have been onboard the plane.
