Gulf carrier Oman Air has ordered six Boeing 787-800 aircraft.
The likely delivery date for the new long-haul planes has not yet been announced.
Peter Hill, Oman Air’s CEO, said the decision to purchase the new aircraft was part of the airline’s long-term growth strategy.
Oman Air wants to “expand and modernise” its fleet with newer, more fuel-efficient airplanes, he said.
“We see direct benefits because of the Dreamliner’s fuel efficiency and operating economics as well as the enhanced travel experience,” added Hill.
Oman Air currently operates its long-haul services with a fleet of A330-200 and -300 aircraft.
