Norwegian has posted a 13 per cent increase in passenger numbers for May, compared to the same period last year.
The large increase is factored against “weak” passenger numbers in May 2014 when the airline was hit by a major pilot strike.
Last month, Norwegian carried 2.3 million passengers, an increase of 272,000.
“I´m very pleased with the solid traffic figures, even though the growth seems even stronger in light of the weak May last year,” said Norwegian CEO Bjørn Kjos.
“However, the traffic figures show that an increasing number of customers choose Norwegian. Future summer booking figures are positive, which not least reflect our European and intercontinental growth.”
Norwegian operated 99.8 percent of its scheduled flights in May, whereof 85.2 percent departed on time.
