Norwegian carried the highest number of passengers for a single month in July, the airline has confirmed.
Around 2.5 million people travelled with Norwegian last month, an increase of 17 per cent compared to the same month in 2013.
The load factor was 88.2 per cent.
“We’re very pleased that the passenger growth continues,” said CEO Bjørn Kjos. “Even with considerable capacity increase, we manage to fill almost nine out of ten seats.
“Particularly in light of the exceptionally warm weather in Scandinavia in July, the traffic figures are solid. We’re also pleased that an increasing number of customers outside of Scandinavia choose to fly with Norwegian.”
Norwegian took delivery of one Boeing 737-800 in July. The company will take delivery of 14 Boeing 737-800 and four 787 Dreamliners during 2014.
Norwegian said it operated 99.4 percent of its scheduled flights in July, with 81.1 per cent departing on time.
