Norse Atlantic Airways has entered into multiple partnerships with easyJet, Norwegian and Spirit Airlines to expand connectivity across key European and US destinations, the carrier announced on Thursday.
The virtual interline agreement, powered by technology partner Dohop, will provide more than 600 weekly connections to the low-cost carrier’s transatlantic services via hubs in Oslo, London, Berlin, New York, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Los Angeles.
Norse Atlantic Airways CEO Bjorn Tore Larsen said the agreements will “further boost transatlantic travel which will benefit local tourism and businesses on both sides of the Atlantic”.
The carrier stated the new partnerships will not impact its “punctuality, asset utilisation, or operating model”, adding connections are subject to up to a 2.5-hour 'minimum connection time,' depending on the route. Travellers will be required to pass through customs and re-check their own baggage before a connecting flight and the airline will not hold flights for connecting passengers. Should a passenger miss a connecting flight, Dohop will reportedly transfer them to the next available flight.
“This new platform will enable Norse Atlantic Airways to easily build new partnerships with airlines across the world, facilitate growth and new commercial opportunities, and offer complex itineraries across Europe and North America to their passengers,” said Dohop commercial director Sarah Hanan.
The carrier is reportedly in talks with other airline partners “who will join the booking platform soon”.
