Risks posed by volcanic ash over Ireland have forced the country's aviation authorities to close air space between 6.00am and 12 noon tomorrow (Tuesday, May 4).
All flights in and out of the country have been grounded and customers have been advised to contact their airline.
The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) said: "Ireland falls within the predicted area of ash concentrations that exceed acceptable levels."
Flights over the UK and continental Europe were not likely to be affected, according to aviation authorities.
In April, six days of air traffic restrictions across Europe caused unprecedented chaos. Airlines claimed to have lost tens of millions of pounds.
