There are fears of another air disaster after an aircraft disappeared from radar since taking off from Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso early this morning, according to reports by Reuters.
The MD-83 aircraft is owned by Spanish firm Swiftair and operated by Algiers based national carrier Air Algerie. It is believed flight AH 5017 had 116 people onboard including six crew.
Latest reports indicate the flight may have crashed in Niger after changing course to avoid a storm.
