Luton airport has posted a rise in passenger numbers for April, marking the 13 consecutive month of growth.
The airport recorded an 11.4 per cent increase in passenger numbers during last month, compared to the same period the year before, with 991,110 passengers choosing to fly from the airport.
Luton airport is due to start work on a £100 million redevelopment and investment programme. It’s expected to deliver an increase in annual capacity from 12 million to 18 million passengers a year by 2026.
Nick Barton, airport CEO, said: “[Luton airport] has now recorded over a year of consistent monthly growth in passenger numbers as people increasingly choose to fly from the airport.
“This month we have added four new routes and look forward to introducing more as the airport expands during £100 million investment programme.”
