Lufthansa will launch a summer route between Frankfurt and Montreal in 2014.
The non-stop service will operate between May 16 and October 12 five times per week - from Tuesday through to Friday and on Sundays.
The German carrier will deploy A340-300 and A330-300 aircraft, both in a business class and economy configuration, on the route.
Flight LH478 is scheduled to depart Frankfurt at 13.30 and reach Montreal at 15.35 local time. Return flight LH 479 is set to depart Canada at 17.10 and arrive in Germany the next morning at 06.25.
The Frankfurt-Montreal route will complement the service offered by its Star Alliance partner Air Canada, which operates daily flights between the two cities.
Lufthansa already operates daily flights between Munich and Montreal.
The airline will also fly an A320 to Valencia daily from March 30. LH 1160 is scheduled to leave Frankfurt at 09.15 and reach the Spanish city at 11.40. The return flight, LH 1161, is set to depart at 12.30 and arrive at 15.00 in Germany.
Lufthansa spokesperson Kay Kratky said: "Due to the high level of demand, we will now be offering flights from our Frankfurt hub to Montreal and to Valencia during the summer peak season.
"The new services will complement our existing network to North America and the Iberian Peninsula. In particular, the additional air links to Canada provide our passengers from Africa and the Middle East with a direct connection to Montreal via Frankfurt."
Last month, it emerged that Lufthansa economy class passengers wanting to reserve a specific seat at the time of booking will have to pay a fee from November 26.
