Lufthansa has announced plans to introduce long-haul premium economy seating.
Lufthansa had previously rejected the idea of premium economy, but was forced to reconsider it "in line with market demands" according to a spokesperson.
Christian Schindler, Lufthansa’s director for the UK and Ireland, said last week that the subject was again "under serious evaluation".
The airline said that it will create a project group for the introduction of premium economy at the beginning of next year "to manage the introduction and define the precise features of the product as well as a detailed timetable".
Lufthansa said the development "will take about two years... and will equip the entire Lufthansa intercontinental fleet."
